Xiamen City China, one of the landmark buildings – the moonlight ring, was finished after more than seven months’ construction in year 2007.

The ring is surrounded by water, and means that the moon rising from the sea. It’s main structure is ring shape frame, composed of steel pipes and nodes. The space relationships between the components and nodes are complicate and difficult to positioning. The construction site was surrounded by water, so it was very difficult for installation. It is introduced the moonlight ring’s steel structure production and construction scheme of using the structure itself as installation supports.

The moon ring located in north of the Garden Expo platform, about 66 meters away from the platform. With built-in LED lights, lighting effect can be adjusted as requirement, and form the changes of the moon waxed and waned. When night fell, it shows the magnificent lighting scene together with the sea.

This project is a landscape engineering, structure are steel pipes, outer ring diameter is 36 meters, inner is 22 meters and thickness 22m. Designed four chords, including 32 meters high above the water, internal steel structure covered with laminated tempered glass. its design philosophy from the month wanes, mainly through internal adjustable LED lights to achieve this beautiful scene.
